Latin grammar

gratias is an accusative case : so gratias cannot be the subject of a verb, but is its complement :

in latin :

  • not gratias (sint) Deo but gratiae (sint) Deo
  • not gratias (sint) Deo but gratias (refero) Deo

Pretty sure the link to Evodius as the successor of St. Augustine is wrong. Maybe a different Evodius? The linked Evodius is a first century guy while Augustine is late 4th early 5th. --2600:6C40:1600:8A3A:306F:E465:7494:F261 (talk) 09:39, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
