[edit]Dennis Quaid also played the father in “I Can Only Imagine” in 2018. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.25.166.67 (talk) 02:33, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
Inside the Actors Studio
[edit]Cites attributed to Inside the Actors Studio need a date and a timestamp. Otherwise, anyone can insert any claim whatsoever in here and stick that footnote on it. --Tenebrae (talk) 16:05, 29 June 2016 (UTC)
No Randy
[edit]Is it me, or is it weird for an encyclopaedia to not even mention that his brother is also a famous actor? The only place it says "Randy" is in the text box, where it says "brother" and nothing more. TricksterWolf (talk) 00:53, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
- Even that has been removed! Kostaki mou (talk) 18:28, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
- He's now been added to the infobox. - wolf 01:27, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
Edit-warring
[edit]A redlink editor User:Eliza George Matter, has been edit-warring at this page all day, making edits that violate WP:COMMONNAME, WP:NOR. WP:MOS and WP:BLP. This user is currently up to three reverts and has been warned about WP:3RR. I have asked the user to discuss the issues here on this talk page, but so far, she has refused.--Tenebrae (talk) 22:13, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
Infidelity with Ryan Edit war
[edit]We have one gossip column in 2008 where Ryan claims infidelity. We have a reputable news source in 2017 where Ryan denies the claim. We can include both claims, or neither. Given that there seemed to be gossip about it in 2008, I suggest keeping both just so we don't have to address this again. Work permit (talk) 17:23, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- They should both be removed fast as WP:BLP violations, claims and counter claims by divorcees are hardly independent, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 17:26, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
- The requirement at WP:BLP for independence refers to independent sources, not independent speakers. There is no requirement that the comments of people concerning themselves or others with whom they are related or have had relationships cannot be included here if those comments are reported by reliable sources independent of the speakers (e.g., not a personal Web page or blog). What is not permitted is the removal of reliably sourced content to replace it with other content, reliably sourced or otherwise, that favors or disfavors the subject of the article. Doing so does not reflect WP:NPOV and is WP:UNDUE. If there exist contradictory comments on this topic that are all reliably sourced, and all are determined to be relevant to the subject, all should be included. This can include reliably sourced denials by the speaker of comments reliably sourced and attributed to them in the past.General Ization Talk 17:45, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
Esurance ads on page?
[edit]Maybe we should include a section about his roles in Esurance ads on his page? That is part of his contributions to media as an actor. (Maybe why it wasn't included was because of a notability issue? He is mentioned on that page, so... Maccore Henni Mii! Pictochat Mii! 18:56, 30 November 2019 (UTC)
Nor is there anything about the "Viewpoint with Dennis Quaid" TV series, which apparently is shown on PBS stations, but originates outside of PBS. A 2023 episode in praise of plastic bottles, made in cooperation with an industry association, is scrutinized in https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/27/climate/plastic-industry-internal-documents.html Mdmi (talk) 12:41, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
drug use
[edit]According to the Larry King interview he gave, he'd been drug-free for 14 years, as of the 2002 interview. But, I remember frequently hearing that that was part of the problem during his marriage to Meg Ryan. Weird. 76.202.192.102 (talk) 22:24, 13 January 2024 (UTC)
