The Telegraph

[edit]

I've changed it to The Daily Telegraph, because this and The Sunday Telegraph have separate Wikipedia pages. I don't think the latter needs to be mentioned as well but it can always be added in if wanted. Salopian (talk) 13:50, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology

[edit]

I don't think it needs to say more than that the name comes from 'demotic'. The fact that that has a Greek root is not really relevant. Similarly, the language sense is really Demotic Greek (or Egyptian) and also does not seem especially relevant to the naming of the company, so I'd suggest removing that too, as well as the 'Demotic' link because the disambiguation page it leads to does not cover the English usage at all.

Or, rather, all of that doesn't seem relevant as it is presented now: it just seems like interesting trivia. If the choice of name was intended to allude to the word and origins of democracy and/or the 'folk' language(s), then it's fair enough to mention those things but it should be clarified. Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Demotix. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Demotix website failing

[edit]

Hi all together, all references starting with www.demotix.com leading now to another firm, which has nothing to do with Demotix as mentioned in the article. All references must be taken off. Aguacatala (talk) 22:05, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
