Social liberalism ideology (2)

@Autospark: I see that you remove this ideology from the infobox: first, adding font information with reliable sources is not disruptive editing; then, it doesn't seem to be WP: SYNTH (I have not combined any material from multiple sources, nor have I combined different parts of one source to reach or imply a conclusion). But I also see that there has already been more than one discussion about this ideology on this talk page, which has involved User:Barjimoa, User:Checco and User:Nick.mon. The removal of this ideology, however, is in contrast with the section "Ideological trends", where social liberalism is present. Furthermore, many members of the PD are liberals, such as deputy secretary Tinagli or the former group leader in the Senate Marcucci (without considering that in the previous legislature the majority of the parliamentary group of the liberal party Civic Choice subsequently joined the PD). If this ideology is indicated in the text of the page as one of the main Ideological trends, what is the reason why it cannot be indicated in the infobox?--Scia Della Cometa (talk) 22:08, 13 September 2021 (UTC)

As User:Autospark correctly pointed out in his edit summary, the given sources do not speak of "social liberalism". There may be social-liberal factions within the party, but "social liberalism" can hardly be considered one main ideology of the party. In my opinion, infoboxes should feature only the main ideologies and no sources, while "Ideology" sections are more appropriate for representing one party's internal diversity. In the case of the PD, the party is clearly social-democratic and has a large Christian-leftist faction. Anyway, I would accept leaving only "social democracy" and removing "Christian left", while I would not add anything else ("social liberalism", pro-Europeanism, etc.). --Checco (talk) 16:35, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
I support the prosposal by Checco above. I also am strongly in favour of those references used for “social liberalism” in the Infobox being removed as neither include the terms “social liberalism” or “social liberal” – a clear case of WP:SYNTH.--Autospark (talk) 20:36, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
@User:Autospark: With your edit, you did a nice job! Thanks! --Checco (talk) 04:14, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
