7ou have an error in this article. The mention of the Marriage Act (Scotland) of 1567 in relation to incest is incorrect. The Incest Act of 1567 (#14 in Table of Contents) covered forbidden sexual intercourse as described in Leviticus chap 18. This bible chapter does not mention marrying your sister-in-law after your wife is dead; only while your wife is alive.

Statistics

Are there any statistics of how many marriages with spouse's sibling/sibling's spouse there are? (Given that there may have been some under-representation during the period when such marriages were illegal.) Jackiespeel (talk) 18:19, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
