Malachi Throne

[edit]

Supposedly he passed on March 13, 2013, although the only source I can find for his passing is the National Enquirer. His Wikipedia Page has the date of death listed: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Malachi_Throne — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.51.184.11 (talk) 19:39, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

and he is now listed twice on two seperate days, one under death announced on this day. Edmund Patrick confer 06:39, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
now listed on 13th which one could extrapolate from the quotes given and one on 14th the date of the announcement by the source.Sorry i cannot assist in finding which one is correct.Edmund Patrick confer 06:42, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yadier Pedroso

[edit]

How can that person die twice? 17 March 2013 AND 15 March 2013 ? Some mechanism should warn people before editing a text. Sometimes "news" may be two days old.Royalrec (talk) 21:55, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry... the entry is now on the 16 March 2013... :) Somebody should check Royalrec (talk) 21:56, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Are we sure that the reference for Rosine Delamare is really her? There's no details other than her name (and "Rosine Delamare" could have just been her stage name) and the woman in the obituary died at the age of 102 - our Rosine Delamare would have been 101. Thus I'm not sure that this passes WP:V, unless I'm missing where you can click on it for more information... There's a different reference on her page, but that's a blog, not a reliable source and doesn't provide where it got the information so, for all we know, it could be from the same obituary. Boot Hill is normally pretty good. I dont know where you get 102 from. The math on the article still says its 101 because her birthday hasnt rolled around yet. The French Wiki also has her death for March 17th.Sunnydoo (talk) 01:17, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I got 102 from the obituary that's cited on this page: "Madame Rosine DELAMARE de PARIS (75000) le 17-03-2013 à l'âge de 102 ans", which is my whole point - it doesn't match up to her purported age. That Boot Hill "is normally pretty good" doesn't make it a reliable source, especially when they might have just got their information from this obituary, and other language Wikipedias are not sources either. In any case, I realized that the appropriate place for this discussion is the noticeboard, so I will bring it there. Canadian Paul 18:00, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lou Sleater - age at death

[edit]

I'm just hoping to clarify the DOB/age for Lou Sleater, who died on March 25. The cited article does describe him as 88 years old, but when I look for a DOB, I just see numerous sources saying it was in 1926. (If he had been born in 1924, he would have been almost 20 at high school graduation.) He was listed on this page as 88, then it was edited (without an edit summary) to 86, then that was reverted. Before I replaced the current source with one that lists his birth year as 1926, I thought I would discuss it here. Thanks! EricEnfermero Howdy! 05:10, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind! It looks like we're on the same page per the last edit. EricEnfermero Howdy! 05:14, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Baseball-Reference.com is the definitive word on anything baseball. Whatever b-day they have listed is the date that should be listed. Unfortunately, it looks as though the writer for the obit didnt cross check the funeral home directors information and incorrectly listed the age in the obit. It happens from time to time, especially on the first report. Thats why we have editors and people cross checking these things. Mistakes happen and can be corrected.
