Khan Bonfils age

[edit]

I removed 42 as Khan Bonfils age as the source I dug up (which was from a few years ago citing 1972 as YOB) didn't get linked in my edit summary as it should have and I can no longer find it. It's led to The Toronto Sun and Daily Mail using the age in possible error. I will do my best in the meantime to find the age (I reached out to Chris Hislop on Facebook. He announced the death). If anyone could aid in this, it would be appreciated. RAP (talk) 19:17 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Shit, now Variety is saying 42. RAP (talk) 21:14 7 January 2015 (UTC)

Andraé Crouch

[edit]

Andraé Crouch, is listed for the 8th and 9th.Bbonds775 (talk) 15:02, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This makes clear that he died on 8th. Ghmyrtle (talk) 15:12, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Missing sources

[edit]

Willy Ovesen and Egil Toreng appear to be the only known 2015 deaths without a decent online source. Can anybody find something? (Come on, Norway...) Star Garnet (talk) 21:31, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Arch Moore

[edit]

If we're listing Brooke and Cuomo, Moore probably belongs on the front page too -- well-known former West Virginia governor (with a, uh, colorful legal history) whose daughter just became the state's first female U.S. senator. -Kudzu1 (talk) 07:53, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't disagree, but trying to compare Moore to the likes of Brooke and Cuomo is pretty laughable. Although Moore's probably more well known with today's populace than Brooke. Star Garnet (talk) 08:27, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Origa

[edit]

Should Origa be listed as "Russian-born Japanese singer" since all of her work and notability is in Japan? Ted Harrison is listed as "British-born Canadian painter" as his fame was from his work in Canada. BurienBomber (talk) 17:30, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Depends if Origa became a Japanese citizen. WWGB (talk) 21:05, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not, by the looks of it. She went on a "personal invitation" (usually a government initiative) to perform in Japan for three months in 1990, according to her own website. I suspect the invitation has just never been rescinded or withdrawn, and that she remains technically Russian. Not enough evidence to go for Japanese naturalization in any case. 86.112.58.46 (talk) 07:29, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Greg Plitt

[edit]

In the entry for Greg Plitt, there are some TV shows and films listed as his credits. Are those really the credits that he is most well-known for? Apparently, he starred in a TV show called Work Out. Wouldn't that starring role take precedence over some soap opera or film in which he probably only appeared in a very minor role? I am not familiar with this man or his work, but I assume that other editors on this page are. Thoughts? Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 21:13, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I usually stay away from adding works to actors and/or journalists, especially when they have a body of work of "appearances". That said, I see Plitt sources listing only Work Out, as does the lead paragraph of his article. Most people who add entries here use the leads' wording or what the initial sources have. You may also notice in Plitt's filmography it says his Terminator Salvation scenes were "deleted". I'm not going to investigate that, just to remove it here, but that seems to me to be unmentionable and/or not notable. — Wyliepedia 23:45, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If I can make it seem less notable, it was a deleted scene. There's a YouTube video of it, overdubbed with music. By the Related Videos sidebar, Work Out seems the most relevant Plitt thing. InedibleHulk (talk) 03:05, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jean Lindenmann

[edit]

I do not understand why the rush to redirect his page to interferon when interferon was already linked in his entry. By leaving the name red-linked, there would be a much greater chance for someone to create his page (I would if I knew how). Now if someone is just glancing at the list without clicking on every link, it looks like he already has a page. He most likely deserves on as he has one at the German Wikipedia site: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Lindenmann BurienBomber (talk) 16:35, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects from names here are normally created explicitly to improve the entries' articles, if they merit improving. If you wish to improve the main article, Jean Lindenmann will safely take you to Lindenmann's page with the inserted redirect and you can freely improve it over the redirect. — Wyliepedia 18:06, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edgar Froese

[edit]

Date of death for Edgar Froese differs between reports:-

Any other/more definitive statements? - Arjayay (talk) 16:50, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Anne Kirkbride 19th Jan

[edit]

I went to the reference for this listing as I had read the cause of death was brain cancer. The reference provided does not mention the cause of this actors death at all. Can anyone verify, I in the meanwhile will try to find where I read it! Edmund Patrick confer 14:28, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This source says the COD was "reportedly" breast cancer, but adds that her husband did not confirm it. I would be okay with removing COD from here, which is seen by more than at her page (where I got source from). — Wyliepedia 04:26, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia

[edit]

I have been checking all over and his death date is incorrect. I was online when it hit the wires at midnight or so on January 22, 2015. I was startled to see that he had died according to look-ups the next day on the 23rd, and was wondering how much the time difference was but 24 hours was way too long....

Here is the link http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-30945324

Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has died, royal officials have announced, weeks after he was admitted to hospital.

Abdullah, who had ruled since 2005 and was said to be aged about 90, had been suffering from a lung infection.

His 79-year-old half-brother, Salman, has been confirmed as the new king.

Within hours of his accession to the throne of the oil-rich kingdom, King Salman vowed to maintain the same policies as his predecessors.

"We will continue adhering to the correct policies which Saudi Arabia has followed since its establishment," he said in a speech broadcast on state television.

Abdullah had suffered frequent bouts of ill health in recent years, and King Salman had recently taken on the ailing monarch's responsibilities.

Prior to announcing Abdullah's death, Saudi television cut to Koranic verses, which often signifies the passing of a senior royal.

'A statement said Abdullah had died at 01:00 (22:00 GMT Thursday).' — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wickydog (talkcontribs) 07:53, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
