"Part of 2020–2021 United States racial unrest"

Is it really? He was not killed as part of a protest. 2601:640:4000:3170:8D1A:4439:DD61:4583 (talk) 18:22, 28 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

His death at the hands of the police is an example of what people are protestingLitch (talk) 18:40, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is, really. George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Elijah McClain, etc. were not killed as part of protests either; the protests were about their killings not the other way around. This is a rapidly developing story, but multiple RSs have already linked this killing to the racist police killings that are being protested and indeed there was a protest outside of Alameda City Hall over the killing of Gonzalez on Tuesday. How long does this last? People were killed by police officers in 2019, but they're not counted as part of this. Is every person killed by a police officer in 2021 going to be included in this? The death of Mario Gonzalez does not seem to be widely protested like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. 2601:640:4000:3170:D76:4674:7265:8FB3 (talk) 19:20, 2 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
