I contest the deletion of this page because it is relevant to several notable issues, including EMTALA violations and hospital neglect. Tab4a0 18:29, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article was useful to me because it's linked to from the main Martin Luther King Jr. Harbor Hospital article and explained in detail one of the incidents that occurred there. Toby Douglass 10:35, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This article was also useful to me as it was linked to from this Metafilter post. Also, the LA Times articles are dead links so I deleted them. Njk (talk) 06:29, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The articles are available in the LA Times archive. It would've been nice if you had looked up the new URLs and replaced the old ones instead of deleting them. --Bobak (talk) 14:36, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability? Significance?

[edit]

While no one doubts the horrible nature of how this woman was allowed to die, there was good reason to question why she would deserve an encyclopedia article --many people, unfortunately, die in horrible circumstances (many also reported in the newspaper) but not enough notability to warrant an encyclopedia article. I think today's LAT article (which I just added) may offer some notability, but I don't know if this would be enough to survive an AfD, esp. since this is a recent event with only one major source pushing it. --Bobak 19:06, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CNN and Nancy Grace have been covering it for a while. They're making quite a hoopla, so it's not just the LA Times covering the story. 75.68.6.81 00:05, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then please add sources. I've added yet another LA Times article, but those claiming notability have the onus to demonstrate it. --Bobak 17:23, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Article is definitely better now.--Bobak 15:15, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The family of Edith Rodriguez have filed suit. Whoever wants to edit the page for her might add this AP wire citation:
