Four spans ?

[edit]

This bridge quite evidently does not have four spans. If the truss has four sections, the correct terminology I think is 4 bays, or 4 panels, not four spans. If the bridge had four spans, there would be three intermediate piers in the middle of the river, and that does not appear to be the case.Eregli bob (talk) 20:08, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Any bridge engineers around? Can that person compare the photo with the refs?PumpkinSky talk 02:11, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Last or One Of The Few

[edit]

which is it? the first sentence talks about how the bridge is one of the last, while a later sentence says it is the last.

i'm not sure which... but perhaps either reword the statements so they're consistent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.10.193.24 (talk) 20:19, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The lead says "of its type" without specifying pin-connected. The later sentence does specify pin-connected. That is, as I recall, the difference. We can reword it if it's too confusing.PumpkinSky talk 02:16, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
