Clarification?

[edit]

Useful article. There's one thing that could use clarifying (at least I continued to be confused by this). In classical studies, one finds citations such as Auct. Vir. Ill. 28, or Auctor, De viris illustribus, with a section number. Once upon a time, I figured this out, and now can't find it. Nor do I see it in the "authors and works" abbreviation table in the OLD, which is where I thought it must've been. Is this perhaps a more cautious assignment of anonymous authorship to a De viris that is sometimes ascribed to Aurelius Victor? That one seems to be section-numbered in the same way, maybe (judging from the citation here). Cynwolfe (talk) 14:58, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. [Auct.] is (Pseudo-)Aurelius Victor 2607:EA00:101:3817:C5C0:6064:73F9:2B00 (talk) 21:49, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
