Sort
[edit]Per Wikipedia:SORTKEY#Typical_sort_keys, it's clear that the DEFAULTSORT should specify upper-case D; this is also made clear by the paucity of entries following the Zs on Category:Disambiguation pages (167 out of 100K) and {Category:Surnames (22 out of 15K).
While they are less clear, i am also eliminating the blank, bcz many users will write it without the blank, if only bcz the blank feels redundant in English in light of the upcased M (and those well enuf informed to rule it out omitting the blank will realize the strength of the expectation that surnames will omit them.
In the absence of the blank, the last sent before the "Typical sort keys" section, clearly applies:
- For example, use "Dubois" in sort keys rather than "DuBois".
This of course reflects the rock-solid convention (except where the legacy of ASCII and thus UniCode as extensions of a single-case code overrides common sense) that alphabetizing ignores case.
Thus i replace
- {{DEFAULTSORT:de Maistre}}
with
- {{DEFAULTSORT:Demaistre}}
