The Gonk leitmotif is recycled in the Day of the Dead soundtrack, particularly just before the zombie named Bub is introduced. Before its use by Jonny Trunk, another British institution, Spitting Image once used a version of the song over its closing credits, performed not by clucking chickens but a buzzing housefly.
