This article should be removed, he is not important enough, only the tabloids attempted to make him important. He is just another reporter who got in trouble in the line of work, and I can't imagine there being an article about EVERY PERSON WHO GET IN TROUBLE IN THE LINE OF WORK. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.236.128.225 (talk) 23:06, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Several factors make him important enough for an wikipedia article:
  1. He has received prizes for his work, both the the Freedom of Expression Prize for 2009 and a prize dedicated to the memory of Anna Politkovskaya and awarded by the Swedish National Press Club.
  2. He is an imprisoned part-owner of the first independent newspaper in Eritrea, therefor his situation is important for the struggle of freedom of speech in the country.
  3. The campaign for his release is very well known in Sweden and his face can be seen in all the major newspapers in Sweden every day. Information in English about Isaak is therefor relevant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.248.45.67 (talk) 12:59, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say it's fairly rarely that someone getting "in trouble in the line of work" is the subject of nationwide media campaigns, or is the recurrent subject of diplomatic tension between two nations. /Julle (talk) 13:38, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dead?

[edit]

Today, Swedish media are reporting that he may be dead, although no one knows anything for certain.[1][2] Someone added {{currentevent}} to Swedish Wikipedia, so I'm doing the same here. (Stefan2 (talk) 14:48, 27 October 2011 (UTC))[reply]
