File:David Linde.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:David Linde.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Article issues

[edit]

The article has a number of specific issues that needs to be addressed:

  • References. While some of the article is legitimately sourced to, for example, Variety, several of the sources are not reliable, in particular the three IMDB pages.
  • Promotional language. There are several example of language in the article that one would expect to find in a resume but not in an encyclopedia article. For example: "...to innovate how motion pictures are distributed around the globe" or "During his tenure, Universal significantly grew its’ international distribution platform across all media and launched Universal's family/animation banner," especially as these claims are not supported by the cited source. These example clearly violates Wikipedia's rule on maintaining a neutral point of view

These should be addressed rather than the tags simply being removed. Sparthorse (talk) 01:18, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
