  1. David Jacobs was never knighted based on any source I can find. Please change "Sir David Jacobs" to "David Jacobs".
  2. On the side bar, the 1966 Trampoline World Championships were held in Lafayette, Louisiana, not Tulsa. [1] On the side bar, for the 1967 and 1968 World Championships, change "Individual" to "Individual Trampoline" to more clearly describe the event. [2] Please change:

  1. Add to main body of article that David Jacobs was the Floor Exercise and Trampoline Individual champion in the 1967 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships and the Trampoline Individual champion in the 1969 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championship.[3] Please add "Representing the University of Michigan, Jacobs won the Individual Floor Exercise and Trampoline events in the 1967 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships, as well as the Individual Trampoline event in the 1969 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships." Please revert revision 983887594. Revision Link. While the editor may have found the information to be "nonsense" that doesn't make it inaccurate and it is still pertinent to the topic of the article, therefore the information should not be removed. Impersonator

It has come to our attention that the man on Impractical Jokers was not the real Dave Jacobs. Who does that? 97.124.155.163 (talk) 00:51, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can confirm, the real David A. Jacobs born November 13, 1946 is my uncle and the man in the Impractical Jokers segment is NOT him. 2601:283:5100:11D6:A47E:4AA9:4A13:D44A (talk) 14:56, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

David Jacobs Date of Birth/Authenticity of this Article

[edit]

There have been three discussions on this talk page about David Jacobs’ true date of birth and his identity. Two of these discussions still remain, and one was taken down a few years ago. One discussion was started by a man claiming to be the real David Jacobs, and another claiming to be his nephew. Despite there being no evidence that these people are who they claim to be, their claims still have some credence. The following are the claims they made:

  1. The real David Jacobs was born November 13, 1946
  2. The real David Jacobs did not appear in Impractical Jokers

Now, for the first claim, I think there is evidence that he was not born in 1942, and was born around 1946, as the commenter claims. I removed the 1942 birthdate from the article, and left the birthdate blank; also there is no accurate source for this birthdate. The evidence is a 1967 newspaper article in The Sheboygan Press. While describing Jacobs’ early interest in gymnastics, it says he brought home his second grade report card in 1955, at which time he would be 7, 8, or going on 9 years old. Obviously, this makes him too young to have been born in 1942, and thus there is credence to the claim that he was born in 1946.

So, what should be done? We should find a source backing up this date of birth in 1946. Also, since this claim about Jacobs’ DOB by this commenter in the talk page may be true, the second claim made should also be investigated, this being that the real David Jacobs never appeared on Impractical Jokers. This information may be difficult to ascertain, but it’s worth some good research.

To close, this whole thing is very fishy. Did the Impractical Jokers have someone pose as Dave Jacobs to be on their show? Was that man on the show posing as Jacobs on his own accord? Who knows. This is really odd.
