- I agree. I'm in the midst of a research project on different elements of this stuff, so I would volunteer to clean this up a bit. For what it's worth, the source for these two quotes appears to be from the back-matter of two of Cope's books, Experiments in Musical Intelligence (for the Hofstadter quote), and Virtual Music (for the Kurzweil quote). I do not, unfortunately, own the former book, and there's no way to confirm on Amazon or Google Books (I think) that the back-matter attribution is correct for Hofstadter. Both of these quotes are reproduced on Cope's web page, but I think we have very little reason to imagine that they are fabricated. I wouldn't question their reliability in this case, so much as their relevance to such a short article. ☾ Luna (talk) 11:30, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
