Proposed merge of David Cobb (activist) into David Cobb 2004 presidential campaign
[edit]Cobb appears notable only for his campaign. A sentence or two can be added here about his work for Stein, but otherwise does not appear notable. Star Mississippi 02:47, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- Merge. I agree, this could be merged to the article about the presidential bid article under the section about the candidate. Onikaburgers (talk) 20:39, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose Cobb is notable as an activist outside of his presidential run. See here and here for examples of coverage outside of the 2004 campaign.--User:Namiba 20:44, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- While Cobb may have some coverage outside of his 2004 presidential campaign, the depth and significance of that coverage do not appear sufficient to establish standalone notability under Wikipedia's guidelines, per WP:GNG, and WP:BIO. His political activism appears to lack significant traction beyond college campus speaking engagement and an interview. Any of this can be adequately summarized in the presidential bid article, ensuring the information is preserved while avoiding unnecessary duplication and or fragmentation of the content across the articles. Onikaburgers (talk) 21:24, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose, if anything the 2004 campaign should be merged into this article. David Cobb the activist is much more important than David Cobb the 2004 Presidential campaign Microplastic Consumer (talk) 22:15, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
