Live Trax

[edit]

According to this page, DMB will be releasing an album simply titled Live Trax exclusively through Starbucks stores. The album will apparently be a compilation of tracks from previous Live Trax releases, but the website doesn't provide any track listing. Does anyone else have more info? —taestell 18:10, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

After reading your message, I went ahead and created the article Live Trax (Dave Matthews Band album), so hopefully that should answer all your questions. –Dream out loud (talk) 23:57, 5 August 2007 (UTC)uu[reply]

DMBLive

[edit]

I'm inclined to believe that DMBLive should get its own Wikipedia article. I say this for two reasons:

  1. No official release is of Dave Matthews Band (yet)
  2. Releases come from more than just Dave Matthews Band; they include other acts which are side projects.

My thought is that there should be a link from the Dave Matthews page, the Dave and Tim page, and the DMB discography page, to the separate DMBLive page.

Any thoughts? --Son (talk) 02:22, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the 3.29.03 Appalachian State show should be included in the DMBLive list, even though it is no longer available. At one point, it was officially available on the main DMBLive page (i.e., without "hacking" the URL). I don't have a release date to put up for it, otherwise I would go ahead and add it. dancheatham (talk) 16:46, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What on Earth happened to the DMBLive section? There are only two releases listed! Look at this version of the page from March 20th 2012 - https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Dave_Matthews_Band_discography&oldid=482946955 - how did we go so backwards? Whomever is responsible for this disaster of a discography, please revert this page back to something far more comprehensive which it has been in the past and MOVE ON.Dobyblue (talk) 12:54, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Matthews Band Discography

[edit]

Recently the DMB discography page has been heavily edited and while some of the edits at the start of the article pull the discography into the traditional Wikipedia style, I do not believe that overall the edits of excluding the DMBLive series releases that are not full band releases works well in this case. I also believe, and a small poll at a DMB fansite shows 70% of people agree (http://antsmarching.org/forum/showthread.php?t=310310), that the DMBLive and Live Trax series releases should have stayed in their entirety (ie - with the DM and D+T releases) in separate sections. These are sold mostly online through the band's own website with one or two exceptions (Fenway Park was released in stores for example) and whether they are DMB, D+T or just DM releases they are all kept under the same heading of DMBLive. The additional information, while not required in a discography, of recording date is also useful information for people who are fans of the band as this information is of more importance than it would be for other artists with an occasional live release and no taping policy. Show dates with this band are in regular conversation, such as "hey did you hear Two Step from 06.05.05 with that amazing outro?" I have shown the user who edited the page the poll, explained quite well why DMB fits the Wikipedia section on ignore all rules as per DISCOGSTYLE, "if there is a reasonable justification for deviating from the above guidelines to most accurately or appropriately document an artist's body of work, then ignore all the rules and go with what's best for the article.", but the user seems quite adamant that this band should be lumped in with the same style as all others.Dobyblue (talk) 13:38, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thankfully logic and reason finally saw the light of day here, the Discography and LT series pages look fantastic - nice job all involved Dobyblue (talk) 13:58, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Some Devil

[edit]

To the best of my knowledge DMB released a studio album entitled "Some Devil" in 2003, but it does not appear in the discography. I don't know enough about the album to add it to the list. Could someone help? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fruitlessnoodle (talkcontribs) 11:18, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
