I decided to change (English singer) to (actor) as the best means of differentiating him. Firstly, because someone might confuse him with the Irish singer, and secondly because he is probably best remembered now as an actor. Going through articles which should link here suggests some diversity of opinion and the possibilty that a debate is needed. Philip Cross (talk) 15:54, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Must say I had no idea he was also an actor - but then I am terribly old... Rothorpe (talk) 20:33, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Normally if someone is known for more than one thing, the disambiguator is something like (entertainer) - e.g. Madonna (entertainer). Though there is another singer (a form of entertainer), so (English entertainer) would be the least ambiguous name, I think. –anemoneprojectors21:51, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Compering Sunday Night at the London Palladium?

[edit]

Am I completely wrong in remembering Dave King as at least a stand-in compere of Sunday Night at the London Palladium - this would have been late 50s or early sixties, and memory is starting to fade! I seem to remember first encountering him in this function, and Norman Vaughan ultimately replacing him, but I can't find any confirmation of it. Comments would be welcome. Or did DK maybe only appear on SNATLP? Maelli (talk) 08:54, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
