Vandalism
[edit]I have removed the section "Nobody takes his reviews seriously, because everyone knows how stupid he is". That is very much out-of-line. Kehr may very well be a bad reviewer, but to call him stupid in an allegedly objective encyclopedia article is insulting and potentially libelous. AlbertSM (talk) 16:35, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
Any reader of this article who isn't familiar with Kehr's reviews would think, that he is an honest film critic. It definitely has to be mentioned, that he intentionally disagrees with the majority of all other film critics in numerous cases. Go look it up yourself on Rotten Tomatoes. If there's a movie with a 95%+ approval rate, you can be quite certain that Kehr is one of the critics who gave it a negative review - in many cases the only one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teamheads2 (talk • contribs) 21:47, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- Indented line@Teamheads2 Yeah, he is a pretty terrible critic. --PCGuy566 (talk) 00:11, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
I realize these comments are very old but I just wanted to say I think the real culprit here is the Rotten Tomatoes and how it enables people to make snap judgements and fosters completely undeserved reputations.
Kehr has a phenomenal reputation as a classic Andrew Sarris-style auteurist critic. He advises on the National Film Registry, got hired at the New York Times, and now is a curator at the Museum of Modern Art.
But he didn't like Alien.
A good critic is not someone who aligns with the Tomatometer or even popular taste. Does that really need to be stated? Read what he wrote if you're going to make up your mind.
Why is this person a Wikipedia entry? Important? No . Seems to be some kind of vanity entry for an average professional?!? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.240.240.106 (talk) 02:14, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
