[edit]69.158.69.104 - You've edited this page twice to make serious allegations about Aspden's recent and distant past. I did a web search and couldn't find citations or references to ANY of your allegations. This is an encyclopedia - not a gossip page. If you are going to make such serious allegations, please back them up with references.
Things that you "heard" do not constitute facts. I've included references to the "Downtown Elite" because it was a documented part of Aspden's campaign. The entry doesn't suggest that it was right or fair - just that he used it to his political advantage. I don't recall seeing anything from the Hamilton campaign accusing Aspden of being in bed with Park Place, however if that were the case, there is an appropriate way to present such facts.
Please feel free to edit the tone/content of the entry if you think that is seems "pro-Aspden". I don't think that it is, and I certainly wouldn't describe myself as a supporter of this mayor. I've just tried to present a factual entry regarding the individual and the themes/platform that he ran on. I've taken a similar approach with Rob Hamilton's entry, and hope to do so for previous mayors.
Needs an update
[edit]I don't think this article has been updated properly in years, since it talks about a controversy from a couple years ago, as if it is current. I found a Barrie Examiner article[1], which actually talks about the police having decided not to lay charges. Maybe somebody with better knowledge of Barrie politics could update this page? It seems like it could also be cleaned up, so as not to read as an anti-Aspden rant (even if he was an awful mayor). MatttK (talk) 23:49, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
