Data plural or singular

[edit]

Is there an agreed upon Wikipedia standard regarding the tenses of verbs around the word "data." Data (plural) are collections of results- datum (singular). Numerous style guides recommend reffering to data as a plural, however some publications leave it up to the writer or take no official position. Are there data available on this? I would like to discuss the view of other Wikipedia editors before we swap verb tense edits back and forth ad nauseam. — Preceding GreenTe28 comment added by Greente28 (talkcontribs) 20:58, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
