My image posts have been rejected, partly because I haven't fully swallowed the copyright and permission checks and balances standards of the site. If anyone can, it'd be great if you please post an image file with O'Neall's numerous mugshots, like his FBI wanted poster. Not mandatory, but if accomplished, thank you, hoping for the best with official approval. Signed, the page creator. ContributingHelperOnTheSide (talk) 23:03, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there,
I'm not an especially experienced user and nor do I have an especially lengthy tenor, but I can surely help you with the copyright tags.
If you want to upload an image created or distributed by the FBI use the tag:
For works distributed between 1928 and 1977 without attached copyright notices, use this tag:
This work is in the public domain because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1977 inclusive, without a copyright notice. Unless the author has been dead for several years, it is not in the public domain in countries that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works. This includes Canada, China (not Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan Area), Germany, Mexico, Switzerland, and other countries with individual treaties. See also further explanation.

For works distributed between 1978 and March 1, 1989 without attached copyright notices, use this tag:
This image is in the public domain in the United States because it was first published in the U.S. between 1978 and March 1, 1989, and a substantial number of authorized copies were distributed to the public without a copyright notice, and where the copyright was not later registered.
Outside the US, explicit copyright notices were not necessarily required, other jurisdictions having other rules, and so this image might not be in the public domain outside the United States. See Wikipedia:Public domain and Wikipedia:Copyrights for more details.
Please add the year the author of the work died.

For works distributed and published between 1928 and 1963 that may have had a copyright notice, but no renewals after 1963 can be found on official US Government copyright websites, use:
This work is in the public domain in the United States because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1963, and although there may or may not have been a copyright notice, the copyright was not renewed. Unless its author has been dead for the required period, it is copyrighted in the countries or areas that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works, such as Canada (50 pma), Mainland China (50 pma, not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany (70 pma), Mexico (100 pma), Switzerland (70 pma), and other countries with individual treaties. See Commons:Hirtle chart for further explanation.

Take care with the no notice tags and be extra sure that the file you are uploading was circulated and published without copyright notices. Also keep in mind that this might only apply to a portion of the work.
If you want to use these tags, just open the source editing and copy the tags and paste them where you want to use them.
