Phrasing

[edit]
  • The article currently states: It is based loosley around a dream Violent J had after forming ICP and Islamic and Christian laity. This sentence is unclear to me; "laity" are ordinary members of a religion as opposed to ministers, priests, imams, etc. Is "laity" the appropriate word in this context? --Metropolitan90 (talk) 03:19, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Fictional Mythology

[edit]

I took out the word fictional, not because I believe The Dark Carnival to be real (I see a lot of people take out the word for that reason). If you ask me, all mythology is perceived to be fictional -- that's why it's mythology. So, I believe the term "fictional mythology" is redundant and "mythology" in itself will do. If "fictional" is the key word we want to get across, how about something more along the lines of "fictional concept" or something like that. Ogyaf (talk) 12:18, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The word "fictional" is applied here to differentiate from mythology which has developed naturally as part of a culture. The Dark Carnival is a work of fiction created for a series of concept albums. It is a mythology, but it is an artificial one.--RosicrucianTalk 15:57, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. I guess I never thought of it that way. Ogyaf (talk) 08:18, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Some people may believe in it, but as far as Wikipedia is concerned it's in the same category as the mythology of Narnia or Middle Earth, and needs to be marked as such, constructed myth and thus fiction.--RosicrucianTalk 18:42, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

C. S. Lewis described Christianity as "myth become fact." Can't stand Insane Clown Posse but I keep ending up on this page in searches for "concept album" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.193.112.148 (talk) 05:39, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bizaar

[edit]

I've heard rumors that the Bizaar albums are supposed to be the back of the six joker cards. I don't know if this is true, so I won't add it. But does any body know if it's true or not?" 173.238.153.195 (talk) 20:28, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
