[edit]I thought I should mention this regarding Mr. Lawson's death. In extending this article I noted that on the website hockey-reference.com it indicated he had passed away in September of 2008. (see: http://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/MNS/1971.html) However, I was unable to find any other reference to his death on any of the usual hockey websites. Not a single one!! However, by finally searching "danny lawson died" in google I found an obituary from the Calgary Sun. Unfortunately, if you simply click the main link, that link is no longer available. However, if you click the cached pages you will find the article. I'm mentioning this in case anyone is questions how I verified his passing. Here is some of the obituary itself:
>>LAWSON, Danny (Danny Boy) October 30, 1947 - September 15, 2008.
Just shy of his 61st birthday Danny Lawson died peacefully after an arduous, courageous, and heroic battle with cancer. His family, friends and fans celebrate his life and career with many fond memories; his loss is felt deeply. Danny was predeceased by his parents.
A "Celebration of Danny's life," will be held for family and friends on October 5, 2008 from 1- 4pm at (deleted). The family wishes to thank both the staff on (deleted) for their dedication and caring and the staff of the (deleted) for their love, consideration, concern and compassion, not only towards Danny during his final days, but also the family. Danny was a true sportsman with a strong competitive edge but unfortunately did not win this one. In 1973 with the Philadelphia Blazers he broke all records becoming the first player to achieve the 50 goal mark in the WHA and earned the title 'Oh Danny Boy'. Just One More Time Danny Boy…. …and Lawson steals the puck again, fakes a shot right, turns to his left, he shoots…HE SCORES!! Number 11 has done it again! He's got the hat-trick. Calgary leads 3 to zip on a goal from Danny Lawson - Goal, un-assisted, Time of goal - 18:20 of the second period. Man this guy never quits, he is SENSATIONAL! NO HE DIDN'T and YES HE WAS!! Thanks for the memories Danny<< —Preceding unsigned comment added by BashBrannigan (talk • contribs) 22:43, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Assessment
[edit]I've upgraded this from a stub. I wondered about whether if might be upgraded to more than that, but I thought I'd leave that to an impartial, or more experienced eye. I'm doubtful about how much more information about this individual is readily available.BashBrannigan (talk) 06:32, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
