Autism

[edit]

The subject was diagnosed with autism at the age of four in 1964, but referred to himself as having Asperger syndrome sometimes. For WP purposes, the subject's description and catgorization should remain as being diagnosed with autism.2001:558:6008:3B:4916:5459:870C:AF09 (talk) 22:56, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if you've seen it, but I removed the statement that said Beath's diagnosis was changed to Asperger syndrome (no source was cited to support this claim) and replaced the people with Asperger category with the autistic people category. While it is reliably sourced that he was diagnosed with autism, I can find no evidence that his diagnosis was officially changed to Asperger. I'm aware that some websites say he has Asperger, and that Beath himself says this sometimes, but this may be a self-diagnosis. This is why I think the article should describe him as having autism rather than Asperger syndrome.SThompson (talk) 20:01, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

free image obtained

I asked the copyright holder of the current image and asked if she would be willing to release it under a free license. She had her reservations at first but but graciously changed it to Public Domain Mark after I explained that Wikipedia prefers to use freely licensed materials. :-) Ixfd64 (talk) 17:23, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
