The name of this article is incorrect, see Daniel Rowlands gravestone at Llangeitho: http://ukwells.org/locations/displaylocations/818. Also see Biography of Daniel Rowlands by Bishop Ryle. It is so irritating to see how Wikki rules, no matter how carefully formatted, are keeping the truth from being published on the net. There is also an account of Daniel Rowlands by the Banner of Truth Publishing, a very respected Evangelical publisher in the Uk and USA. Ieuan Sant (talk) 21:54, 1 September 2010 (UTC)There is also the evidence of a book by the Rev. John Owen who writes a biography of Daniel Roalands: http://www.archive.org/stream/amemoirrevdanie00owengoog#page/n8/mode/1up. There is also this internet book giving a short account of his life scroll down on this link to the 'R's' for Rowlands: http://www.archive.org/stream/eminentwelshmens00robe/eminentwelshmens00robe_djvu.txt.Ieuan Sant (talk) 21:54, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There may be no ultimate "truth" about the spelling and anglicisation of an 18th-century Welsh name. This one, like Griffith(s), Jenkin(s), etc, is commonly printed with and without the 's'. In this case, you are espousing the less-common alternative, as a Google search will verify. You have also sought to force exclusive acceptance of the form 'Rowlands' by deleting the perfectly correct phrase sometimes known as Daniel Rowlands. Wikipedia is not in the business of forcing such viewpoints on the world but is committed to being consistent, relying on verification by the best and most relevant authorities and, in the event of a controversy such as this, to acknowledge both opinions. It is not enough to assert that a particular author, printer or monumental mason pronounces "the truth" when a contrary version is adopted by most authorities, including Welsh Biography Online at the National Library of Wales. I have no difficulty in reverting the inconsistent editing, despite the fact it has stood without notice for quite a long time. Bjenks (talk) 07:24, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
