List of songs in Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA
[edit]I don't think that each DDR mix needs a separate article for JUST the songs. Perhaps an article with a repository of all the songs in the DDR series which is an idea I've considered before. I think that the song list shouldn't get their own articles nor should they be removed, see Dancing Stage MegaMiX to see what I did with the song lists to keep them on the page and prevent them for being an eye sore. I plan to convert the existing lists on the other articles in the same manner once I get around to them. Currently I'm building the articles for the titles that do not yet have one. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 06:51, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- I like what AeronPrometheus has done to improve the eyesoreness of the songlists and I agree that the best place for the songlists is within the article for the game the songlist belongs to. Failing this or perhaps in addition to it I think a master chart containing all DDR songs would be valuable. This chart should include columns for song title, artist, and which game the song comes from, as well as perhaps other columns for foot ratings. Special note could also be added if the song must be unlocked. Thibbs (talk) 01:12, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- But, if Guitar Hero gets this treatment, why doesn't DDR? ViperSnake151 01:28, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Because there's nothing about Wikipedia that says all articles must be treated equally. If I were projecting the GH articles I'd merge the song lists into the game articles there too because the song lists themselves don't amount to much notability without direct attachment to the games they're from. A compendium article of all songs featured in DDR (I like the notes idea, Thibbs) would actually serve a purpose because then someone could look for specific tune, see which game it belongs in, go to that article, and then see that song alongside all the other songs in said game. The song list articles would be like creating an Artists featured in PlayStation 2 Dance Dance Revolution games article, too narrow a parameter to merit a dedicated article, the correct article for that information would be List of Bemani musicians. The lone article of this design (Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME (North America) song list) needs to be merged with that game's article. Why do you think all the others got deleted? They just overlooked this one. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 05:35, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- We split them off because they are too large. Okay, my thoughts: we split off the song list IF the game has over a specific threshold of songs or is a highly notable version. The song list charts they use on the ITG articles would be a good place to start. If the article is a stub, we put it in the article. If the article is huge like for an AC version, we throw it in a new article. ViperSnake151 16:32, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose, We make the song lists inline with the main article and set them to hide as I did with Dancing Stage MegaMiX, there is no reason to break them off for size, notability, or any other reason. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 21:04, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
