The Ron Ritchie you linked to is a deceased Canadian politician, so I think you have the wrong link there.
Might be best to have a footnote or a gloss that the spitball is an illegal pitch, that context is needed to really understand that section

You've got him as dying in Sun City in the infobox, but it's not cited there, and the text never explicity states that he died in Sun City.
