24 hour view count

[edit]

To those who keep editing the 24 hour view count to 17.1 million - which source are you using? The one linked only says 13.9 million. Lukestepford (talk) 15:07, 15 May 2019 (UTC)LukeStepford[reply]

Background and release

[edit]
  • Unsourced: A remix version of the song was included on the group's debut extended play (EP), It'z Icy, which was released on July 29, 2019. It is the fourth track on the EP. On January 22, 2021, Itzy released their first English EP, Not Shy, which featured the English version of "Dalla Dalla". [This information was in the lead earlier, but I moved it to this section.] -ink&fables «talk» 07:00, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Critical reception

[edit]
  • Remove unused and repeated parameter | rev1score =
    minus Removed EN-Jungwon 11:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Add a line which summarises the overall critical response. [Suggestion: "Dalla Dalla" received mixed reviews from music critics.]
    plus Added EN-Jungwon 11:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Park also named it the "K-Pop Pick of the Day," saying it is a "solid opening bell of what is shaping up to be a long and interesting career." → Park added that the song is a "solid opening bell of what is shaping up to be a long and interesting career."
["K-Pop Pick of the Day" is just an introductory heading for the review. See 1 and 2]
  •  Done EN-Jungwon 11:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Replace Lee Jeong-ho called the track a "fusion" of the "merits of various genres such as EDM, house, hip hop and so on." with adding content from IZM's review. [Reason: It is not like a review, but seems more like a description of the music composition, which has been already covered under the composition section. On the side note, IZM's review is very good and explanatory.]
    • Suggestion: Start with - In a more negative review, IZM's Jeong Yeon-kyung...
    minus Replaced EN-Jungwon 13:38, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Replace the 2nd paragraph with → Taylor Glasby from Dazed ranked it eighth on their list of 2019's best K-pop songs, writing the song "evokes two outlandish 90s moments: the wobbly bass of... "Flat Beat" and the brat-pop of... "Trouble"." He added, "Like the latter, "Dalla Dalla" owes more to its artists' personalities, and despite several coats of K-pop polish, embodies that same scrappy energy and ballsy confidence."
    minus Replaced EN-Jungwon 11:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Year-end lists → "Dalla Dalla" on year-end lists
     Done EN-Jungwon 11:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Critic/Publication → Publication
     Done EN-Jungwon 11:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Remove Bugs listing from here [Can be added on the Year-end charts?]
minus Removed. I don't think it should be added to year-end list. Bugs is just a music streaming platform and charts like this aren't usually listed in that list. EN-Jungwon 11:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Remove YouTube listing also, add it in the prose form under the Music video section.
    minus Removed EN-Jungwon 11:31, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also remove Amazer listing [not notable enough]
    minus Removed EN-Jungwon 11:09, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Music video and promotion

[edit]
  • Check and verify: It became the most viewed debut music video in the first 24 hours by a K-pop group with 17.1 million views, beating the record set by TXT's "Crown" with 15.1 million views. The cited sources doesn't verify this statement. Please make necessary changes in this section and as well in the lead if the facts are false.
The billboard source does say "ITZY’s “Dalla Dalla,” released in February, currently holds the overall record with 17.1 million day-of debut views.". Is it not sufficient for this. EN-Jungwon 01:52, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Remove , beating the record set by TXT's "Crown" with 15.1 million views ["Crown" was not even released during the premiere of "Dalla Dalla", so how can it beat something non-existent at the time.] -ink&fables «talk» 02:20, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Fixed. Makes sense now EN-Jungwon 04:37, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]

Hi @EN-Jungwon: I have left few suggestions that will hopefully improve it further. I have stopped at the infobox but will leave additional comments once you add the suggested content. Please let me know if you disagree with anything proposed. -ink&fables «talk» 06:04, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @EN-Jungwon: I have thoroughly seen the article and found that only (but many) minor changes are required in prose and MoS. If you don't mind I can make those edits myself, as it will take more time to list each changes here. If you wish to make changes yourself, then also I am equally happy to list the changes.

I have left the comments for the critical reception section above to avoid any disagreement (as this section can be controversial sometimes). -ink&fables «talk» 07:50, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objections. I am still writing the Background and release section. I'll try to finish it this evening. Thank you so much for reviewing this article. This is my first GAN so I was a bit unsure about this nomination at first. EN-Jungwon 08:02, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @EN-Jungwon: I almost did an overhaul of the article. I would like you to read the article thoroughly, in case I have made a mistake or misunderstood something then please make necessary changes or discuss here. I will revise the article one more time and will close the review probably by tomorrow. -ink&fables «talk» 18:32, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'll go through the article and get back to you this evening UTC. Thanks for helping out with this article. EN-Jungwon 04:38, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@-ink&fables, I've gone through the article and found no major issues. I think it needs some copyediting which I'll request at GOCE. EN-Jungwon 16:28, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Passed: During the review period the article was improved from # to #; and in my consideration the article fulfils all the Good Article criteria. -ink&fables «talk» 17:30, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Gentle reminder

[edit]

Just a reminder that we do not/should not use YouTube as a reference for music video releases. Secondary sources alone are sufficient. Oh, and Taylor Glasby from Dazed is a female writer, so it should be 'She' in the CR section, not 'He'. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 02:17, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Carlobunnie, thank you for this note. I didn't find any Youtube reference, but did find a Tumblr source which has been used to identify the directing team behind the music video. Is it of some concern. If yes, then please let me know. Thank you again. -ink&fables «talk» 03:39, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@-ink&fables: I thought the ref was citing the YouTube MV because its title said "Itzy Dalla Dalla MV". I see now that wasn't the case, as you've edited the reference info to show it's a Tumblr post, so you can disregard my comment. At least now you know to make sure that references are clarified as much as possible when you're reviewing, so there's no room for confusion in the future. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 03:55, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
