Invasion tie-in
[edit]The Daily Planet obviously does not exist; however in 1989, to tie-in with the Invasion crossover, they did in fact publish a bagged newspaper version of the Daily Planet. Telluride, Colorado's local newspaper is called The Daily Planet.
Ohio Bell Building?
[edit]I'm deleting this reference to this building being the inspiration for the Daily Planet design, as Joe Shuster has explicitly denied it. The fact that the building's current owners make this claim is much less persuasive. --Chancemichaels 20:38, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Chancemichaels
Fair use rationale for Image:Titanoplanet.JPG
[edit]Image:Titanoplanet.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Blown Up
[edit]Shouldn't the recent explosion in the Planet be mentioned? It devestated the building, killed a staffer, maimed Dirk and put Perry and Lois on life support. Lots42 (talk) 21:00, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Globe
[edit]If there is any third party reliable article on how many times the Globe has been smacked off the top, it should be mentioned. Lots42 (talk) 11:22, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
Possible origin of the globe design with 'Planet' ribbon
[edit]Does anyone know when the Globe was added to the building's top? Was it there from the beginning or was it added later? I found a very similar image of a globe with the 'Planet' ribbon. Internet Archive, History of the World's Fair 1893, this is from the 1893 World's Fair and it's design seems to be the same as the later "Daily Planet" globe, however it was for a series of planter hoes called "The Planet Jr.s", and on the far left of the ribbon is a word that appears to be 'NEWS'. Whether the globe was on the building from the start or if it was added later this image is something that probably would have been know by the artists, but unless someone could find a reference to some image, or to "S. L. Allen and Company" then its probably not noteworthy enough to add to the article. (Floppydog66 (talk) 17:20, 26 September 2010 (UTC))
Post-Crisis: copy-edit, citations needed and Doomsday reference.
[edit]Hey everyone. I've recently made some changes to the Post-Crisis section via my sandbox. I put some (citations needed) tags where the ownership of the Planet changes hands. Did some copy-editing in order to simplify a few grammatical things, and put a citation for Doomsday's rampage which damaged part of the Planet.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks!

Smallville street address
[edit]There is an episode of Smallville that states that the address of The Daily Planet was "1000 Broadway". Charlotte Allison (Morriswa) (talk) 02:05, 25 May 2017 (UTC)
