GA Review

[edit]

Generally very good work here. Just a few notes. I was on the verge of passing it outright until I found the link to the bootlegged video. Unless I'm mistaken, Daft Punk owns creative copyright on that performance so linking to the video is a violation of the contributory copyright infringement clause at WP:COPYRIGHT. Other than that, recommend moving citations to the end of sentences and reviewing the article for wikilinks: the first instance of each noteworthy name or term should be linked, but not subsequent instances. I went in and helped a little here: adding links to Los Angeles and Coney Island while removing a duplicate link to one of the group's releases. Please drop me a line when you're ready for a second review. Best, DurovaCharge! 23:59, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd just like to point out that "the subsequent linking of an important item distant from its previous occurrence in an article may occasionally be appropriate in a table or in a subsection to which readers may jump directly" as stated in WP:MOSLINK. just64helpin (talk) 03:32, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The contributory copyright infringement concern is unrelated to that manual of style section. In other words, there's no right way of linking to something if policy prohibits linking to it at all. DurovaCharge! 03:45, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring to your recommendation for reviewing the article for duplicate wikilinks, not your comment on copyright. just64helpin (talk) 04:08, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, promoting. One other note moving forward (since I suppose you're headed to FAC with this): I'm assuming the getamac hosting at YouTube is done with the permission of Apple, since it's positive press for Apple and appears to come from a popular YouTube account with an established website. Not sure how that would fly at the next level. Otherwise quite impressive. Best wishes, DurovaCharge! 03:54, 4 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
