Article poorly written

[edit]

Why exactly does the article talk about some DOS programs running poorly on Windows VDM without actually comparing how these programs run on DosEmu in Linux? All it does is mention how some programs run fine on Dosemu (which may also run fine on Windows VDM for all we know). It doesn't make sense. Comparing the Windows VDM to the Linux Dosemue is fine, but a vague statement on problems with the Windows VDM without then going in to how Dosemu compares is silly and reads a bit like an advertisment Nil Einne 17:29, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Linux only??

[edit]

The article says, "Currently it is only available for x86 Linux systems." However, I thought I'd heard that it also optionally ran on NetBSD. Does it no longer do so? Armslurp (talk) 06:12, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Emulators that run on Mac OS X

[edit]

Are there any DOS emulators that run on Mac OS X? 216.99.201.138 (talk) 05:45, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Small changes

[edit]

The current article doesn't mention Windows. Surely the salient point is that dosemu is a Linux solution to running DOS programs. Comparison with Windows is pointless.

Linux only? Hopefully this is now explained.

MAC OS X. There's Bochs; its ubiquitious. There's also a MAC version of dosbox. QEMU and other virtual machines will have some capability for running DOS programs; I don't know how well, but probably poorly, since to be honest, DOS emulation sucks on stock Intel-Windows systems.
