Ship photo
[edit]Added the ship photo taken at Ascension Island in circa 1962. The ship is a personal photo which also appears at NavSource.
NavSource has authorized me to use my photos that appear in NavSource to appear in Wikipedia. (See DISCUSSION under USAS American Mariner where agreement by NavSource Editor Gary Priolo is shown.)Wikited (talk) 19:41, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
crypto communications aboard DAMP
[edit]Judging only by the dates, the primary crypto communications equipment aboard was likely KO-6 and KW-26, both declassified now. All 1960s crypto equipment is obsolete (and primitive in comparison to what is around today) The problem with trying to write about any of it for Wikipedia is that there are no reliable or objective references available because it was so secret. Even declassified NSA documents are so heavily redacted that they are useless (for purposes of documenting an encyclopedic article).Anewcharliega (talk) 19:23, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Citations Needed
[edit]Cielquiparle, hi… I noticed you added a note template about needing inline citations. As a comment on your edit, you said the article has “extensive sources”… But looking for the references or bibliography, there is only one (single) book listed. How is that “extensive” sourcing? The See Also and External Links don’t really count as sources. Thoughts? — TadgStirkland401 (TadgTalk) 05:53, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- OK have changed tag accordingly. Cielquiparle (talk) 05:56, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
- Perfect. This last change you made is a great compromise. Thank you very much. — TadgStirkland401 (TadgTalk) 13:10, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
