Leroy or LeRoy?

[edit]

His signature often showed the latter; why don't we? Anmccaff (talk) 20:12, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Major problems

[edit]

This article has some major problems:

  • It fails basic notability guidelines see WP:GNG. There is a single source that counts towards notability [1] everything else is either by Baldridge himself or private papers, none of which count. I found one more [2] which should be included in the article. More are needed.
  • It fails policies WP:V and WP:PRIMARY. 90% of everything is unsourced, and that which is sourced is mostly PRIMARY.
  • It fails WP:NOR (No Original Research). For example "From this African journey came a marvelous book" is clearly injecting the writers positive opinion. Many other examples.

Generally speaking, Wikipedia is a dull place. All we do is report what other people say in reliable sources and that's about it. If no one said it, in a reliable source, then we don't report it. It's how Wikipedia works without becoming a self-publishing platform or place to engage in original research - which in any other forum is a positive thing, but not here. I don't plan to do anything about it, I am posting this warning because it's only a matter of time before someone does. I hope to see a solid article about Cyrus that will last the ages. -- GreenC 05:33, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
