[edit]Thank you very much. I'll add onto it. --156.63.87.28 20:07, 6 December 2005 (UTC)Insomniak
- I have analyzed this article with a few colleagues, and we have a few minor suggestions. We found ourselves having a hard time following your wording through the possible relationships section. We think that if you added a simple tree on the page that was available for viewers while they are reading that it would make it much easier to understand or follow along. As another note, the differences and similarities section is very hard to follow. It is choppy and sporadic. We believe that since you are comparing the two classes of Hagfish and Lamprey, that if you went into more depth in a separate section about each class before comparing the two, it would flow better and viewers would have more to compare and a more comprehensive knowledge of each class.

Cyclostomata are not jawless fishes
[edit]According to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature [[1]] it is not allowed that two taxonomic entities have the same name. We have the Cyclostomi that are jawless fishes and the Cyclostomata that are bryozoans, there is no confusion. Cyclostomata should not link with the article on jawless fishes. Consider that the English Wikipedia is a kind of reference and hence, its mistakes are replicated in other language versions. Plese, revert the change. Cheers, Fernando.--Fernando Archuby (talk) 15:29, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
- The term "Cyclostomata" is widely used to refer to the lamprey-hagfish clade going back over a century. This is not a "Wikipedia error", but a widespread, if technically erroneous, practice in the taxonomic literature. At the very least, the term should be mentioned, given how widespread the use of it is. Hemiauchenia (talk) 23:03, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
Suggestions for improvement
[edit]Hello there,
A few improvements that could be made for this article include using in-text citations throughout the paragraphs. The paragraph starting with "Unlike," has no citations within it. Likewise, a few of the citation links located in the reference section are not linked to primary literature. Specifically citation [27] has no author, thus the information may not be accurate. The article could also benefit from the addition of a phylogenetic tree to help as a visual aid. Carruxton (talk) 23:28, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
Hello there,
I had a few more suggestions. The paragraph starting with "unlike" found under "Internal differences and similarities" section has no citations/references. I would propose to add citations into this section, as well as adding a diagram dipicting the different kinds of semicircular canals. Carruxton (talk) 05:43, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
