cleanup-gallery tag
[edit]A Template:Cleanup-gallery has been placed into the article. I've had a read good look at the policy. Amongst other things, it says: "The images in the gallery collectively must have encyclopedic value and add to the reader's understanding of the subject." What the images demonstrate is that each year, there's a government dignitary, often a minister, presenting the awards. With the addition of today's image (for 2006), the gallery is nearly complete. We need to find one for the very first year, where the awards were not presented by an MP (in itself demonstrating that after the first year, the awards have significantly increased in recognition).
It's not entirely clear to me whether the images (one per year) violate the policy of "avoiding similar or repetitive images".
What is clear, however, is that this page is not merely used as an image depository. The images are hosted on Commons and there is a clear theme (one image per year, showing the various dignitaries who have presented the awards). There have been two images for 2009 and I've removed one of those in order to support the above points.
I appreciate further thoughts on this. For now, I've left the tag in place, pending what others will have to say.Schwede66 10:55, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- Given that there hasn't been any further discussion, I'll remove the tag again. Schwede66 09:19, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
