Cutler River vs. Ellis River
[edit]I am having second thoughts about the description of the river's course. The current description follows the depiction on the USGS map for the area, where the river, after leaving Tuckerman Ravine, flows into the Ellis River upstream from Crystal Cascade. However, the AMC's White Mountain Guide describes the Cutler River as having the entire course down to the center of Pinkham Notch, where it becomes the Ellis River, which had risen there as a wetland.
As the original author of the article, I went with the USGS depiction, because that is what I am used to doing. However, the AMC have been present in Pinkham Notch and Tuckerman Ravine for a century and a half, and have developed the trail system throughout the area of the two rivers. I feel they have a much better sense of which river is which, and I feel it would make sense to change the river's course description to match the AMC's. If anybody is watching this page, please chime in. I will change the course description in a week or so unless I hear otherwise. Ken Gallager (talk) 14:13, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
