[edit]- Some of the material was not sufficiently revised, but still word-for-word duplicated the source. Copyright is automatic in the United States; all printed matter is copyrighted unless it is specifically released. I have revised those sections that remained a problem, so copyright is no longer a concern. However, there are some issues still with the material published here. Chief among them is that they are based on "original research". Wikipedia is not a publisher of first instance; we are a compendium of previously published information. This is one of our core policies, and material here that cannot be verified to a reliable source will probably be removed. As his grandson, perhaps you could share your memories with a magazine or newspaper that might like to publish them. At that point, we can happily reference them here. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:19, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- Please do not restore text to the article that is copied from the external source. If verification is not provided as described below, we cannot copy any text from that site. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:13, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Copyright problem removed
[edit]One or more portions of this article duplicated other source(s). The material was copied from this URL: http://www.rockabilly.nl/references/messages/curley_money.htm. Infringing material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a license compatible with GFDL. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences or phrases. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:15, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
