[edit]Before adding in sections related to the background, identity training, military, etc. this page was very slim as far as true information goes. It contained a lot of resources and external links which directed the reader to valuable sources, but the availability of information directly on the page was not satisfactory. "The Relationship Between Faculty Characteristics and the Implementation of Cultural Competency Training in Physician Assistant Education." The Journal of Physician Assistant Education 23.2 (2012): 24-30. Web. This study articulates that the new interest of cultural competency has increased in Physician assistant education. It also discusses that there are limited resources available for the study of cultural competency and that physician assistant programs are increasingly seeking out new ways of practicing social and cultural competency in the workplace. It shows a significant relationship between a lack of previous training and the implementation of less cultural elements in the workplace.
Bellamy, Jason. "Achieving Cultural Competence." APTA. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Mar. 2017. This article is very broadly a survey of what the definition of cultural competence is and how it is best achieved in multiple and various workplace and social settings. It sets a precedence for future cultural training practices and encourages new ways of achieving social competence through cultural trainings.

This article specifically talks about the disparities in the mental health world among the Ethnic and racial minorities. This article talks about how the clinicians and researchers have been working to overcome those barriers, but so far it has not been successful. Besides giving the facts about the disparities, this article examine how culturally tailoring counseling would be helpful, but this article also suggests that it may require more than one solution.

This article shows how the Southeast Asians were the “forgotten” piece during the hurricane Katrina. This article states that the immigrant’s minorities who are on the bottom of the income level are bound to suffer more during the natural disasters. The study that was done suggested that Asians were slower to recover from the disasters and it credited due to literacy, communication and language barriers. This article also states that one cannot simply identify all people from Asia as Asians, because they differ ethnically.

This article is fairly recent and it talks about the elusive relationship between African Americans and the law enforcement. At the beginning of the article, there is a section from the hip-hop song by Kendrick Lamar, which the author kind of agrees with. This article goes back to the Jim Crow Era in the 60s and explains the dynamics between African American males and police. This article also shines a bright light on the cultural conditioning people get about African American male and how dangerous he can be. [edit]Good overall page with a number of important points hit. The first paragraph, or the lead in section could use more wording, or more than just the definition. [edit]The Wikipedia page does start off well with the lead section and explaining what it is going to be about. When glancing over it, the first thought that popped into my head was how short it was but I figured maybe it just has yet to be finished. The main point of the article was training to be more competent with other cultures, this would allow for more interaction, understanding and better communication due to acceptance. The information on the page is on topic but there just isn't much of it, not only this but there was not many sources used to back up the benefits of training, nor was there evidence of the results of this training. In fact there was only one source for the entire article, it was confusing at first since as I read along there was only one in-text citation yet there was a few things that seemed to need a citation. For example, the entire section that covers the training in regard to medical students, there is not a single source yet the information is clearly something that people do not naturally know. The information used is good but the lack of sources is the issue. This is a good starting point as of right now for the article but I believe there can definitely be improvements regarding information used and increasing the number of sources. Other than that, the article is easily accessible and split up well, there weren't any mistakes I saw regarding wording or typos. Once again, all that needs to be done is include more information and sources, don't forget to use in-text citations as well. Good luck guys!

[edit]The lead section has a clear overview of the topic, however it is only one sentence long. Try and add more material to the lead section, maybe add the actual 4 components then talk about them seperatley further down. I don't see too many scholarly articles specifically referenced in the writing. The article has a clear focus, but leaves me wanting more to think about. The contributions take an appropriate tone towards the subject. When adding sources, click the cite button, it ads a reference number and automatically sends it to the reference tab in order. The article adds neutrality value, and doesn't add any personal opinions. In the first section, I would recommend putting the Author/study in front of the lead paragraph citing a 15% decrease in miscommunication. A bit confused over the acknowledgements section. Is it a list of the sources? Or just a list of contributions towards the cultural competency training. The article is well balanced but the lack of in-depth information isn't taken in account. Article is very readable and doesn't have any mistakes in grammar, at least that I noticed. Complex language is avoided and the article would be useful or education of all backgrounds. I would recommend overall to add more information, including examples where the training is used, and how it is important towards a companies future public relationships.

- In this case, the group covered pretty much all information needed, but viewpoints from both sides, (for, against) would be helpful as well.
- The points made in this article for the most part are opinion based, but a few more factual points with concrete evidence supporting claims would be helpful.
- Yes, the article focuses on a clear topic.
- Like I said above, the article is mainly opinion based but it could use some more scholarly support.
- A few more points with different perspectives would be very helpful to the reader for answering questions he/she might have.
- There are not very many competing arguments, this article could use a lot more.
