Cromolyn versus Leukotriene Inhibitors

[edit]

I went ahead and added "in the treatment of asthma" after it says that cromolyn has largely been replaced by leukotriene inhibitors. Cromolyn is alive and well in the form of OTC nasal sprays and in eye drops, especially outside the US. I am not aware that leukotriene inhibitors are presenting any serious competition for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis and allergic rhinitis. Cromolyn is, however, facing serious competition from cromolyn's successor drugs, such as nedocromil, in the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.174.253.73 (talk) 00:50, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Shillitary is selling Leukotrine drugs defend our Asthma pages

[edit]

Despite the emergence of evidence that they can have some very serious side effects! Just read the page on Montelukast. This is utterly unscrupulous! Sodium Cromoglycate _is_ very very safe. For some people (Including myself, but only at certain times in my life), it can be very effective and completely alleviate all asthma symptoms. 220.101.92.34 (talk) 08:42, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

CFC's and Intal

[edit]

The text about Intal is confusing. It reads that Intal inhalers are being taken off the market due to a lack of CFC replacement. However, I always used Intal in a CFC-free form in their "Spinhaler" device, which was entirely mechanical. Reading the text carefully, it is not clear whether this form is available or not. Some cite problem, but what?

[edit]

I wanted to update the text on Preparations as Sanofi has halted production of the Metered Dose Inhalers as they had production problems that were no longer economical to fix. And to add Penta Arzneimittel to the item about nebulisers. But a problem in another part of the page stops me from doing that. Edit the page, don't change anything, hit preview and it fails. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gctwnl (talkcontribs) 14:39, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
