Definition of the term Criticality

[edit]

We have this disambiguation page but I can't find a dedicated page providing a succinct definition. I was looking for an explanation of the milestone in the construction and operation of a nuclear power plant, where they say "achieved criticality on day/month/year". For example, the Reactor Details page from the International Atomic Energy Agency lists the First Criticality Date for Hanbit-1 in Korea as 31 January 1986. Please refer to my proposal for another article on the Criticality Accident page.--Graham Proud (talk) 03:47, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Short Description of "Prompt critical"

[edit]

The brief description of "Prompt critical" as "an assembly for each nuclear fission event" makes no sense. I admit that it is a difficult term to summarize, but I hope someone can improve this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.254.27.5 (talk) 16:44, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
