How do I upload images?

[edit]

Thanks

I was actually considering asking if you had a picture for the article. First of all, you have to be careful if you're uploading, say, an album cover or a promotional photo. Such images can be used in an article about an album or a band as "fair use", but if there's an image that's not copyrighted it's better. At any rate, there's a little button in the left sidebar that says "Upload file". Click that, and you'll be taken to a form. Carefully read everything in the big purple box. Then fill out the form. You'll have to use the "browse" thing to find the image on your computer, then you'll have to give it a suitable name under "Destination filename" (make sure the file time is the same as the source). In the big box that says, "Summary" you'll need to put down who took the photo, where, when, who is in the photo, and if you are using an album cover or promotional photo you will need "detailed fair use rational". Fill in all of that and then there's a drop down menu that says, "Licensing". Pick the most accurate thing possible from that list. Click the button that says "watch this page". Do NOT click the button that says "Ignore any warnings". Then click "upload file". If you've done everything right it should work. I've found it sometimes takes two or three tries before I get everything right. Also, the image has to be the right file type. .jpeg .gif .png and .svg are the file types that work. .bmp doesn't work. For some odd reason, it'll let you upload a .pdf, but the pdf won't display as an image. I think you have to be logged in to upload an image. Take a look at Wikipedia:Image use policy, Wikipedia:Image copyright tags, and Wikipedia:Fair use for more information on images and copyrites.~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs) 16:14, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How does this look?

[edit]

Again, thanks for all your help. I made significant changes, added more references, and also added a bit more information about television appearances etc...

Is this good enough for the Deletion Review?

Dave

The article currently does a great job of documenting the notability of the artist with the WP:MUSIC guideline. You have documented that the band is the subject of multiple articles in reliable sources (newspapers). The band has won a national award (Covenant Award), and they have been played at a major festival (World Youth Day 2002). You have documented the article with excellent newspaper sources. I highly doubt that anyone will try to delete this article again. The article is a great example of how some hard work can make a great article!
A few thoughts on improvement: Have they charted on any national music chart? Do they have a record certified gold or higher? Have they gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour? These all are points on the WP:MUSIC criteria, and having them with citations would strengthen the article. Check out the guideline to see if there are any other things you can do to strengthen the article. Royalbroil T : C 05:04, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
