Distinguished Creative Directors

This section appears to be being used by people to toot their own horn. William Tucker of NetPlus Marketing only yields one Google hit. I don't think we should have anyone listed who doesn't get at least 1000 hits when you google there name. I don't think we should list any names that don't have wikipedia pages to link. Qualifications

The qualification section is much more informative with the edit as of 14:00, 26 October 2006 by 203.115.119.124. However, I wonder if it could say the same things with more neutral wording. I know it will seem like a fair analysis to most right-brain types, but the left-brain types may think it's a little to opinionated. What do you think? Oicumayberight 17:09, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

creative directors in the fashion industry

This article doesn't really cover what the role of a creative director is in the fashion industry. I think it is quite different from what is described for media & advertising and it would help if it were included. Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:08, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Further References on roles of a creative director and page recontruction plan

Future plan and partial summary - I will lay out a plan on what I will do to contribute to this page.

So I will be contributing more information on the roles of the creative director on this page. The current page only has brief information as well as brief explanations of the roles of creative director's in the video game industry and advertisement. The plan/outline that I will make for this page will involve more detailed information about positions of creative/art directors in each of the following fields of work: video games, advertising, graphic design, fashion, music, and film. Even though the general purpose of the role is similar throughout each field, there are some differences/responsibilities that stand out from each other which will be worth mentioning in the article (and also to give it variation). I plan to re-organize the beginning section of the page by just placing information about the general role of a creative/art director and remove the brief info about video games and advertising (which will be transferred to the body section that mentions these fields). I also plan to include a list of important individuals in each of the following fields: video game, graphic design, and fashion and possibly a gallery of some of the related works pertaining to some of the fields (Video game covers, Film cover art, music cover art, graphic/art works,).Creative directors are important when it comes to any work that involves entertainment, art, and product development. The responsibility and tasks of a creative/art director can include design layout, copyrighting, innovative thinking, and reviewing material to make sure it meets expectation and originality and much more. These tasks are just a small part of the planning stages. Very often, directors may lead meetings that involve a brainstorming process with numerous co-workers that are employed under the same department. The creative director is responsible for collecting all of these ideas and helps shape/develop the concepts with his or her team to move forward in a project. This is a process that can be used in fields such as television/advertising and other entertainment industries (video game, film production). A creative director role in the video game industry is a good example. In this type of industry, the role is extended out through various stages of the production. In a brief explanation, creative directors in this field are known to lead the games design/graphics, art work, and visual concepts. The creative director must act as an overseer to make sure the design aspects of the game product are following the original and intended design blue print or whatever was conceptually thought of during a brainstorm meeting.

I like your wikipedia article. Very informative. I think the you should include the sources on the main page. Also, separate the paragraphs a bit more because it's not inviting to the eye. Most people do not want to read a big paragraph (like how paragraphs are organized in newspapers). My last suggestion would be to include notable people in each field that you have listed. I think that would make your article stand out more. You could link the persons to your article thus creating more traffic on your page.
