Talk:Craig David/Archive 1
Musicians he has collaborated with
[edit]Does anyone know the name of the guitarist he works with? I recall an interview in which he (David) told of how an American music producer advised him to drop his white guitarist if he wanted success in the American R'n'B scene. David commented how he would never drop a friend for success, and that the notion that working with a white musician was damaging to his image was appalling and worrying to him. What a nice chap he is.
The name of his guitarist is "Fraser T Smith".
Guest appearance on It's All About The Stragglers (Artful Dodger album):
1999 "Re-Rewind The Crowd Say Bo Selecta" (Artful Dodger featuring Craig David) #2 UK
Rewind was on born to do it too, well at least my copy has it (It's australian)
>the rewind on the album (uk version atleast.. IDK if there was a specific aus version) is a slower version.. not the same song. the Artful Dodger version is the one which was the single. i would edit it in myself but someone has vandalized and i'm not registered so i can't revert it..
Do you know what the names of Craig David's current backing singers are? Amanda & Russ, Leicestershire
Good Article
[edit]I think this article is horrendous, it quotes chart placing throughout, which makes difficult reading. Maybe a table at the bottom? Also it keeps referring to his US success, which we know has been limited, by the fact it is parodied on many comedy shows, not least Sacha Baron Cohen and Bo Selecta shows. Cleanup is 100% neccessary! --194.125.76.202 14:21, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Additional single
[edit]Does anyone know why the Human League cover track "Human" isn't listed here as one of Craig's singles? I know it was released...I have a copy of it. Anyone who could verify and/or post it would be applauded. --6xB 19:56, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Human wasn't released as a single. it may be a promo you have. i think it was a b-side to one of the singles, but i'd have to check them to be correct. 194.221.133.211 13:01, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Seven days cover pic on main page
[edit]it's stated this picture is the Seven Days CD cover. it's not the UK cover, the UK cover is totally different.
can someone verify which country release cover it is, and please update it. 194.221.133.211 13:02, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
Bo Selecta
[edit]This keeps getting removed from the article. It really should be on there; like it or not Bo Selecta! was a very well known shown and its very title came from a Craig David quote and the Craig David character (along with Michael Jackson) were the two most famous characters from the series. It shouldn't be the main highlight of the article obviously but as a minor section it certainly should be there.--Him and a dog 21:41, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- it actually got the name from a lyric, not a quote... and i don't actually agree with it being here, so what, it's named after something craig david did, that should be info on the actual bo selecta page, not here. the show wasn't that well known, and although i never watched it, the only character i remember is the michael jackson one, from seeing pictures of it. just because you think it was a very well known shown (sic) and those 2 characters were the most famous, does not mean that is true. a reference to that effect might help your argument here. not that i'm going to remove it, lol! 194.221.133.211 (talk) 13:41, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- The show may not have been very well known, but the one thing people associate with it is Craig David. I cant think of him without thinking of the show.
It should be on this page, and could be put on some sort of criticisms of Craig David? Ross Noble also put Craig David into Room 101(British Tv Series), and I have a link for a citation here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFS_rnJcKzA&feature=related Mackay64 (talk) 20:52, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
I think the complete lack of reference to Bo Selecta is nauseating, the page now reads as if it is a promo from David's record company (it mentions Soccer Aid for christ's sake!). The parody of David on Bo Selecta is the main thing that most people know him for, I know I cannot prove this with a link or anything but it is simple common sense.Spanker LUFC (talk) 14:23, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- Agree 100%. 82.46.49.45 (talk) 09:34, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
bo selecta should be in the article as it is arguably what craig david is principly known for at the present time. Plus, it hacks off his manager no end. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/2529631/Craig-Davids-manager-goes-crazy-after-employee-mentions-Bo-Selecta.html Blythy (talk) 00:00, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
I agree. He was asked about the bo selecta character in loads of interviews and most bios, even album reviews, seem to mention the character. He actually gave interviews about all the ridicule he suffered because of Bo Selecta. And he appeared on the show several times! Mel B's page mentions she appeared on the show, even Michael Jackson's mentions "Cha'more" was parodied by impersonators. Anyway, some good links which prove Bo Selecta should be mentioned:

Entirely agree that a reference to Bo Selecta should be on here, for many many people the mention of the name 'Craig David' is instantly associated with the parody. The parody is more renowned than the man. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.114.82.50 (talk) 15:15, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
It's obviously being removed by his manager or some uberfan. Craig David just came on TV and the first thing that came into my head was bo selecta and him saying "Craiiig Daviid". It is well known that the craig david character impacted the life of this man, there are plenty of links above from the other person to justify including it. If you dont include the bo selecta part, then I think it is censorship. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.199.87.33 (talk) 07:48, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Should it not at least be mentioned that Craig David was featured in (and is a key part) of Bo' Selecta! Series 2 Episode 8 even without any mention of parody. Boothferry (talk) 23:14, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
This was the most important thing to ever happen to him. He had to leave the country because of it. How can you not include it in the motherfucking article? 22:54, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
Buddhist?
[edit]There seems to be some clues that point to Craig David being a possible Buddhist, is there any confirmation on this? Craig has at least one Buddhist statue in his house (a huge one at that), uses the hand thing (I can't remember it's name) as a greeting and as a thankyou, and I have seen him mentioning karma before.
