A fact from Coya Knutson appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 29 August 2005. The text of the entry was as follows:

Untitled
[edit]I created this article just because, after a recent reference to Coya Come Home in the Times, I went to see what was on Wikipedia and found there was no article about this amazing woman. So, naturally, I wrote it, already somewhat familiar with the story from that George article the year after she died.
I have never lived in Minnesota, don't think I ever will, and I make no pretense to any special understanding of that state or its politics. I put this out based on what I knew and what I found online; I'd certainly be happy if someone with even more knowledge wanted to build on this. Daniel Case 04:17, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
