Cowpens was also the name of a RN engineer who designed a pintle-type mount for a variety of naval barbette around 1870, which was later superceded by Ericsson-type turrets (which actually aren't turrets, stricly speaking...). Trekphiler 08:30, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
