From the article: Coverack is the only known habitat of the 'Coverack Gerbil', a large 2 foot long rodent that was once common on the Lizard Peninsula. A shy nocturnal animal there is now only 4 known breeding pairs and as such it is a protected species.

I'm not sure whether this is [citation needed] or [pull the other one, it's got bells on]. Google finds exactly one page for Coverack gerbil - this one. 86.20.198.71 (talk) 22:41, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
