Wikiproject Coventry

It might be worthwhile starting a project to improve the pages on Coventry. You can express an interest at: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Proposals#Coventry. Snowman (talk) 13:04, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

University ratings

(I'm posting this to all articles on UK universities as so far discussion hasn't really taken off on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities.)

There needs to be a broader convention about which university rankings to include in articles. Currently it seems most pages are listing primarily those that show the institution at its best (or worst in a few cases). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#University ratings. Let's be honest here - a lot of these polytechnics don't show their rankings at all. Why's that? Because they're not very good? Probably. I think that seeing as Wikipedia is supposed to be impartial, we need to have some consistency, if Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick, Imperial, Durham, Nottingham etc etc can show their rankings then so should Coventry, Lincoln, and other universities of that ilk. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.234.82.174 (talk) 11:34, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

It seems like they do have their rankings on Wikipedia; scroll down the page to see these! KJ —Preceding unsigned comment added by KatharineFJones (talkcontribs) 16:30, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Lead

An introduction is supposed to summarise the key points of the article briefly and succinctly. This one is ridiculous. A proper introduction does not need citations.--Manky b (talk) 23:26, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

Wikimedian in Residence

I've just started work at Coventry University, as Wikimedian in Residence. Please see Wikipedia:GLAM/Coventry University; and do let me know if I can help in any way. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:47, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

Ryton Organic Gardens

Would someone like to add something about the University's acquisition of Ryton Organic Gardens? See, for example, [1]. (I write as Wikimedian in Residence at Coventry University). Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 08:27, 27 September 2019 (UTC)

The provided link to the Rugby Advertiser offered as an example was not working. Do you have another? Please advise. Regards,  Spintendo  08:38, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
@Spintendo: Thank you; please see the archived version, at [2]. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:04, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
Done I've placed this in the History section, although it might have equally gone under Campus — but I suppose that could (to some) imply only education-related buildings. If it needs to be moved let me know. Thanks! Regards,  Spintendo  23:10, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
@Spintendo: Thank you; it's good there. I've added a link. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:49, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
Thank you Andy. The Heritage Seed Library link actually redirects to the Ryton link (they both redirect to Garden Organic) which was why I originally placed it only once in the sentence, but I guess a second link is helpful for readers not aware of the connection.
